Vortrag: Urban Management in China

Vortrag in englischer Sprache | Urban Management in China – Experience and Institutional Analysis from the Perspective of Industrialization

Since 1949, China has established the development goal of industrialization. All work must be carried out around the center of industrialization, and urban management is no exception. Mao Zedong once pointed out, „Turn the city of consumption into the city of production.“ In the Mao Zedong era, the main function of Chinese cities was to provide venues, personnel and daily services for industrial production, resulting in various forms of production such as factory workshops, street industries, and home production. In addition to permanent workers in factories, there are also a large number of family workers, temporary workers, outsourced workers, seasonal workers, etc. These labor forces outside enterprises are mainly women, and they are also invested in the construction of industrialization. This report will sort out the experience of urban management in China since the Mao Zedong era from the perspective of industrialization construction, and conduct institutional analysis.
